Disney’s Mulan JR. follows the story of a brave young woman named Mulan who embarks on a life altering journey across ancient China. With an enthusiastic and talented cast of 90, Santa Maria College have embarked on their own journey to bring this two thousand year old Chinese legend to the stage.
This show is action-packed as Mulan’s determination to protect her father from army conscription leads her to dress as a boy and run away from home to take his place fighting against the Huns. With the support of her mischievous sidekick Mushu and her family ancestors, Mulan learns that often the individual must sacrifice for the greater good, and that the path of personal discovery lies in that sacrifice.
This powerful Disney musical uses a combination of traditional Chinese folk music and more up-tempo modern music as the heart warming journey of honour and fighting spirit unfold.
